Please give us a short summary of your website?

I am an Animal artist, my web site offers portraits of peoples pets that I draw from their photos.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

I had been giving friends and relatives drawings of their pets as gifts for years and someone said "Wow! You should try selling these on the internet!"

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

This is my first website and I launched it in August 2007

How did you decide on a name for your website?

My nick name for a long time has been Rotty (because I can bark like a dog!). I wanted something like Pet Portrait but the domain name was taken, I settled for Pet Pawtrait.

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

I draw using soft pastels, pencil and graphite, the results look fantastic and don't take nearly as long as oil paintings so I can get the portraits out to my customers quickley.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

I don't see it as a big investment of time, to wind down some people read books or watch TV, I draw, I just love it!

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Yes, if I had to quit my day job to draw full time, I would not consider it work.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Passing out flyers in my local area and by word of mouth, anyone that has received on of my pet portraits always raves about them to their friends and you can't beat that kind of advertising
