Aggressive Jack Russell

I got my Jack Russell at 6 months old. He is now 2 and half and he bites my husband and me if he is mad or tired. I have never seen a dog so ill and quick tempered if he doesn't want to do something. I guess I am still not the pack leader. Does anyone have a solution to this. I keep dogs until there are at least 16 years old and have trained all of them. I have had pit bulls, shepards and mutts and all were great dogs. I had one shepard that lived to 19 so I must be doing something right. What am I doing wrong and do other Jacks have this problem?
