Lately I have been accompanying a friend in his quest to lose weight because he is one big "Incredible Hulk". After going to the gym with him, we would either go to our friend's house or to their house. Both of us three love pets. But both of them have the same passion for birds. My other friend owns about 2 parrots, 4 cockatoos and 6 talking mynas. My 'healthy' friend own 3 pair of love birds and a giant toucan he rescued during a storm in 2003 with his newly acquired female toucan to serve as a partner for the former.
Whenever I visit their houses, the parrots and the mynas will say "welcome home, welcome home" with a very cute but sometimes annoying accent. It seems like they are mimicking humans for their sturdy voice.
The parrot will also tend to eat my finger whenever I taunt him. And it hurts. And he would usually say "You're so ugly, you're FUGLY"! And I would usually shout back at him with "Liar" and he would say that back to me in a never ending word exchange!
OMG! What a rude pet. Somehow it's funny though. It can easily learn whatever you taught it. It can easily adapt to its environment and they have a tremendous skill for learning human activities easily.
They can do tricks that I have not seen much with other birds though I have seen some doing it. They can do basketball. Yes, my friend bought a mini basketball court especially made for bird tricks. But what makes his pets different from the other is that whenever the birds finished a trick, he will not give it food.
Lol, others will give pets a prize for the tricks they did b u my other friend do not do that. But he's got the power to make them follow. Gah, I wish I can do that to my chinchillas and my lazy rabbit.
By the way, I took my rabbit to the veterinary and he was diagnosed as obese! Maybe I should lower his food intake and do not leave him with his food sack open.
