Our website has been up for about 7 years, almost as long as the business has been running.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
Our first website was in 2000 and it still is POCO. Improvements on the site and shopping cart integration have been the only changes.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
POCO, is an acronym for Port Orford Cedar Oil. This is the important ingredient in our products and it seemed natural to name the company after it.
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
Port Orford Cedar Oil is all-natural, non-toxic, has anti-septic, anti-biotic and anti-bacterial properties. It keeps bugs away and protects your pets fur and skin against many different types of irritants.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
To keep the business running and the great products available.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
A great product tends to sell itself, the main effort has been to get the word out and let pet owners know that POCO products exist.

If we had unlimited funding we would like to update the site, make it more user friendly and easier to order.

Yes, we have have the ability to make as much of the product as needed.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
The most time consuming has been learning the technical knowledge involved with search engine optimization and website building, but it has also been the most rewarding.

Good content has been our best asset.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
It takes a lot more time and effort than I first expected.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
POCO's site has been running since 2000 and we plan to keep it going for as long as the company is in business.
