Comment #6 amber at 09/10/08 00:29Here is the whole email conversation that I just got into with another scam out of Cameroon. We were wanting to adopt two capuchin monkeys....sad to say that upon my research, I found the same exact pictures that she sent to me on antoher website for exotic animals. I called the owner of the website that I found and she advised me that the pictures were of her babies and not the person who was trying to sell them to me. It is just so sad.... Now I don't know if I will ever try to adopt one again. Here is the converstaions....
hello once again,
We will be very much ready to give you any reference you seek to get from us.we never new giving out these babies will bring us such a streess. you make us ponder if you are really interested in these babies. If your heart tells you that this is a fake then we on our own part will hove nothing much to say than stay with our babies.we will not let you have what you do not like. but if you very much deem it necessary that we give you a guarantee, you get back to us and say what you want as a guarantee. we very much think this thing is getting off hands.we can't understand that you can have such thoughts about us. we are a family with kids and will not like to spiol another family's happiness. besides how much did we ask for the babies. Is that any sum we can deside to incriminate our selves and family for?
please do understand our worries and make us see serousness in you. My phone is apt but you said you called and it was not going through. please lets get this thing stright.we will wait you make us know you are still interested and ask us for a gauarantee and we will be opened to you.
hope you get back to us.
regards

Well....it just seems strange to me that the pictures you sent to me are on other websites and they are in Florida. I do understand what you are saying and not sure what to think. I want for this adoption to be ligit and not a scam but I there are just so many other factors that are pointing in the other direction.
To help clear all of this up.......I would like some references for yourself so that I can make sure you are ligit. If you can provide me with some references, I would like to check. If you could send more picutres....maybe it can help prove that these are your babies. The 3rd picture that you sent to me is actually one of a spider monkey and not a capuchin. I do know the difference and know for sure that that one is a spider monkey and the other one you said was the female is actually a capuchin.
Thanks again and I will be waiting on references.

Hello madame
We very much do not know how best to exlain this but i believe it has tally with our numerous quest to give this babies out that we seeked for tenders from so many sites to make known our babies. That means must of the pictures we took for them has been used in the sites you labled.
We very much had to give these babies out since their humidity here was not the best and that made us to go extra miles for their evaquation. That we believe is the result of their pictures being on sites that i can't even tell. I will go through the sites you send and see for my self if what you are saying is really true. If that be the case,we may proceed legally.
we will get back to you if we have any more information. But also, keep us infomed if you stomble on any this time.
we wait on your compliance.
regards

This is an email I sent to you this morning. REad it and let me know. Thanks.
Well....I will call but I am skeptical about calling. I don't like to give any of my information out over the internet or to anyone I don't know. That is why I was doing all of this through email. I hope you could understand?
About the pictures.....I was wanting other pictures because upon my reasearch over the internet......I came across several websites with the same pictures that you have sent to me. They were of other capuchin monkeys up for adoption by other people and those people were not you. I have to watch my back and make sure this is not a scam. I just can't figure out why you became persistant about me calling after I stated that my husband wanted to meet you and the monkeys.
Check out this site and then tell me if the pictures you sent to me are "your" actual capuchins that are up for adoption.
Also....about scanning the pictures. If these are your babies....as I have did with my babies....I have hundreds of pictures that all you ahve to do is attach to an email. I was not asking you to take them right now....but to send more of some that you already have. That is all.
Here is the site...... http://www.primatecare.com/forsale.htm
Are you affilated with this company who sells them? They have all 3 of the pictures that you sent to me. Explain that to me??
Thanks again.....I am only trying to cover myself in the case of a scam. That is all and I would hope you could understand that!

hello,
that is great news. we will appreciate that. please we will be very grateful if you give us a call using this number: 00237 7488 5553. we need to talk well in order to arrange the visit.
Regarding the monkeys,we are not selling them. we are placing them on adoption and henceforth, placing a heavy price on them will have a negative impact to our psyche. it will be as if we are selling our own biological children. please also promise us that you will never sell the baby out when you get her.
better still,we will appreciate it if your contact number and home address is given to us.

Wow....that is great. Thanks for the information. Is it any way possible that my husband would be able to meet with you to see the monkeys? He flies with the Air Force and he will be in Yaounde on Tuesday for four days with his mission. I just talked with him tonigt and he said that he would be able to meet with you to see and meet the babies before we made our decision. If this is good for you....please let me know a time that would work with your schedule.
Also....out of curiousity....I have been doing lots of research the last couple of days and usually these babies sell for thousands of Euros. Why are you selling your babies for only 278 Euros??
I also need to check with customs at the airport and see what the process is for shipping them here and what regulations I need to follow.
Please let me know if it is possible for my husband and you to meet while he is there. Thanks again for your time.

hello,
thanks once more for the mail. the 185euros is the adoption fee for each of them. we have just contacted the airpot and they said the shipping fee for one is 93euros.
Brad runs more than Daisy so we just assume he is more ernegetic.however, all of them are active. Brad is 19 weeks old. the entire process is as follows.
adoption fee.........185
shipping fee..........93. all will sum to 388euros.
thanks

Aww...I love the names and would never change them.
Are the males more energetic than the females?
Ok....so for everything it would cost me 185 Euros?? Is that for the female or male?
Does this include shipping it here?
I would need to know a full price on everything so that I can make sure to tell my husband all of the details. It is solely his decision so I want to make sure he knows everything.
Thanks again and I am looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks.

Awww....my heart just melts. Beautiful babies. So which one is the female?? Do they have names already? I will show my daughters and I know they will just fall in love with them. I have raised my two daughters to love animals just as much as I have.
I talked with my husband tonight and he wants to do more research as well. He is on a mission in another country at this time but will return next week. I will then show him the pictures.
So if you can, send me some information about the adoption process. Costs, if any?? We are curious as to how much one of these will cost us. What about food?? What sort of things do they like to eat, is their feeding schedule difficult to follow? I have read a lot already today and it was lots of information to take in and to understand. How old are they??
Thanks again for this information and pictures. They are just precious!!

just from your research on capuchin we believe these monkeys will be highly taken care of .our monkeys will be coming with a hand book to enable those who are interested in monkeys but knows nothing on their care and feeding so you nned to bother much.
since you wnat just one will be ok this monkeys never grow up together .
the climate suitable for these monkeys is a cold moist climate.
just take look at the pics below, hope you will like these babies.

Well.....I have never had a capuchin before but was interested in having one. I am a pet lover of all sorts. I have 3 dogs currently and have had pet squirrels and all sorts of exotic animals growing up.
I do not plan on breeding them. I was just interested in one but if they come as a pair....I would hate to split them up.
I have been doing some research about how to care for them and it seems to be a little difficult but I plan on doing better research before we make a decision. I need to check into the laws about having them on base and in the stores with me. Everyone here in Germany brings their dogs in all the stores and restaurants and I was hoping that they would allow the monkeys as well. I will have to check into that. I live in Germany but only because my husband is military. We will be moving back to the states in a year and would want them to come with us. What climate do they prefer?? I would want to give them the best home that we could but will only take them if I feel we can give them that. I don't want to jeporadize their health or their happiness in any way.
Would you be willing to send me some pictures?? I would love to show my husband and look into their care furthur and then we will make a decision.
Thanks so much for gettin back to me. I really appreciate the information you have send and I look forward to doing more research on them and hopefully giving these babies a great and loving home.
