The Real Story Behind Grocery and Super Store Pet Foods Interview

By Interviewer at 11/03/07 16:00

Name of your website?

The Real Story Behind Grocery and Super Store Pet Foods

Your name?

David W Johnson

Your Location (city, etc)

Ft Pierce

Please give us a short summary of your website?

A short video about the history of pet food.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

Most pet food manufacturers are using poor quality ingredients to make their products. Consumers are trusting they are buying quality products when in fact they are not. This website was created to educate the consumer to current pet food practices and then decide for themselves if they should change who they buy from.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

My first website was in 1997. It was a marketing website promoting various affiliate programs I was working with.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

When I started the design concept for the website, it was going to be about pet food. The video I'm using tells a story. So I thought, why not call it www.PetFoodStory.com

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

As the website has matured, I've added articles, news stories, and products related to the pet industry. I've found the more information you can provide the visitor with related topics, the more relevant it is for the visitor to be there.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

My eventual goal for the website is to provide relevant and quality content that gets visitors to purchase the products and services I represent.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

I have a long-term vision for my website. I fully expect to put time into developing the website in order to make it profitable.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Because I provide affiliate product and services, I feel these companies are well capable of handling the load. I may need to change to a dedicated server if traffic load became critical.

What has been your biggest challenge?

My biggest challenge is trying to figure out what gets someone to take action. At times I think I'm giving the best compelling reason for someone to act, yet they don't.

What is your website address?
