Mummified Pets

By Veteran-arian at 05/13/08 05:13
This may sound weird, but the ancient practices in Egypt has already hit America! Mummification. Only this thing does not concern human mummification, it does, however concern your pets. Its pet mummification, people! Watch this video from a Mummification store in Utah as reported by National Geographic.

YouTube Video

Many find that practice as sick and wrong, but for those people, there's really no backing. They are really going to invest a whopping US$25,000 for their pets be mummified!

As for me, an ultimate pet lover, if we have that here I would definitely do that if the price is lower. But that price, no way. I will just be comfortable with putting my pets to the pet cemetery.

And fortunately, we do not have that kind of store here. Haha, or else, my hard earned money will only go to my pet's mummification!

The Biggest Piranha

05/12/08 13:02
Piranhas, thanks to Hollywood, has given people the image that it is a very violent animal. Truth is, even though they really have a liking for meat, they are not as violent as what you thought. In fact, many people raise piranhas as pets in aquariums.

I'm sure piranhas make good pets, but I don't think I'll be owning one soon, especially if it is this big. I'm talking about this piranha--the world's biggest.

The Fart That Hurts The Earth

By Veteran-arian at 05/11/08 20:54
, Cows: The Cow's The Culprit

Debates about the world concerns are now a very prominent topic in the world. Although this issue does not concern any house pet, it does concern what we call the Farmer's love pets. These includes cows, pigs and other bigger livestocks.

Cows are particularly the topic of this stinky issue. Scientists are concern about the farts of these ruminants. Studies shows that their fart contribute more of the global warmers than cars in some part of the world. By the way, I hope you're not rolling on the floor laughing by now because this is really a serious topic. Really.

In recent experiments and researches, it shows that humans and animals acquire gases like oxygen when we eat or talk or even when we digest food. These gases are not very useful so our body mechanism pushes them away, thus, releasing fart. Don't laugh! One of the gases released in the form of fart is what we call methane. Though regular amount of methane is good for the atmosphere, high concentration of it is really bad. When layers of methanes lined the atmosphere, it traps heat and starts global warming.

The problem is that, we cannot really do anything about this. Its the farmers right to own a cow. Not just one. But actually hundreds and thousands of them. My family actually owns about 125 cows. And I believe it contributes a lot to global warming. I don't know what to say about the Hindus keeping their cows until it dies naturally. That's 25 years of stinky farting man!

In places where there are more cows than cars, they are facing a total cow fart infested atmosphere. So I guess its really a good idea of sending cows to the slaughter house regularly. While sheep's farts are not stinky as hell, cows' fart is definitely but for your nose. So next time you smell something like a box of rotten radish with a mixture of dungs and droopings, that means you're near to a global warming contributor.

The Killer Bunny

By Veteran-arian at 05/06/08 08:11
Rabbits or bunnies are popular pets. They are cute, they are cuddly. They are soft and they really are adorable pets. I have a rabbit that's why I know these things.

But have you heard of a killer bunny? No, not the one from the movie Holy Grail. Haha, those are just special effects and computer generated. But this one is real, Trust me. Watch the video so you'll know what I mean.

YouTube Video

Haha, by now I'm sure you're wearing smiles in your face. What a cute rabbit isn't it?

How I wish my Rodney rabbit is like that so if ever there's a snake in my backyard, he will just kick its ass away.

I wonder what happened to that snake and it really run away from the rabbit. With its size, it can kill the rabbit, but it seems like the rabbit is the one who is playing and who want to eat the snake haha.

That bunny is evil! Lol.

Pet Store Shopping

By Veteran-arian at 05/04/08 23:43
, Birds: Lover Finches

Once in a while, I visit the pet store across the street to buy some pet supplies that are urgently needed. I don't usually buy things there because they are expensive as compared to the pet shops in the pet districts of our town. But since I urgently need foods for my cat, I do not have a choice but to go there.

The store is cool. They have a lot of cute pets, accessories and foods. The only thing I hate them is their price. However, because its summer, they have something like a 'summer promo'. And I was really moved by the sight of cute finches that I immediately bought them. I saw them kissing and pressing each others feather, significantly showing they are deeply in love with each other haha. I got those two with the cage for $70.

I also saw some cute guinea pigs. They are very fat and really adorable! Haha I really like fat pets, they make me believe I take care of them properly haha. There are big kois as well! Those colorful fish are very much suitable for the mini pond in my house but my sister is planning to buy a big silver arowana so too many fish will not fit in there.

There is also a white chinchilla in the store. My chinchillas are grayish brown with black and white chinchillas are rare for me. But they look thin and pale so I asked the pet shop boy to bring the chinchilla to a veterinarian but he said the vet regularly check the pets so theres no need for that.

There is also a part of the store where exotic pets are placed like the big yellow constrictors, the yellow diamond back pythons, the small green iguanas, dragon scaled iguanas and some box turtles.

I had fun looking at those cute, adorable pets. I enjoyed the short window shopping haha. Oh I forgot to tell you, I got the cat foods too!
