There are 16 of them, the shortest is 9 feet, the longest is 26 ft. Their body are bulked up, they are big, their scales are shiny, and they're lying there coiled up, as if kings waiting to be served with their food. These are the huge pythons I saw during my recent visit in Manila Zoo of the Philippines.
The serpentine area of the zoo is filled with large snakes. All snakes of different colors, sizes and different behaviors too. There are small ones but moves like crazy, the bigger snakes are the ones who appeared to be shy, but they still look scary as hell.
My eyes were stuck in the longest one, the 26 feet reticulated python, definitely the biggest snake I have ever seen in my entire life! Except the from the movie anaconda of course, that's exaggerated!
Pythons are common to Asian forest. They are everywhere, they can be found hanging in trees, crawling the grounds and they can even be found in waters. Pythons are excellent swimmers and they can go from one island to another looking for a prey. They are generally considered not harmful to humans though they will attack if they are hungry or provoked.
Pythons are known to live in China, Thailand, Malaysia, India, Myanmar, The Philippines and most commonly in Indonesia. If you will just look at them, their color are nice. I actually find them beautiful. But if you will think of what terrible things they can do, you'll definitely get scared of them.
I'm really amazed at their keepers. I can't imagine myself sitting next to a 26 ft reticulated python while watching it maul its fresh chicken meal. I would love to have one as a pet, but not that big! But I doubt if I can have one, aside from the risk, I still love my chinchillas. I don't want to have them eaten!
