You actually can add fat directly to the dog food that you already feed your dogs. Pasture fed beef grease or bacon grease will add about 100 calories per Tablespoon. Dogs have a tendency to lose weight if they are out in the cold of winter so it may be wise to add this fat if you feel your dogs will suffer from the winter weather.
