The Original Snobby Dog Blog - offering features on the best in dog design and fashion - as well as skewering canine fashion disasters as "Doggie Don'ts".

What inspired you to launch your own website?

Lack of good sites dealing with dog design in a "non-corny" manner.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

2003

How did you decide on a name for your website?

It came to us in an inspired moment.

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

It is WAY more stylish! The web design is better. And the content is more intune with our core audience.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

we are in red right now but with the interest expressed by others it should eventually pay off

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

more coverage, more writers

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

yes

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

hosting. Man hosting is the achilles heel of any web organization. Back in 2004 our host deleted everything and had a virus that corrupted all of our back up files!!!

What has been your biggest challenge?

Once again hosting. having to crawl back to the level where we were before

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

popular content. also using social bookmarking to our advantage.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

no diff really

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

been up since 2003 and will keep doing it regardless of success
