Funky Dogs Interview

By Interviewer at 01/27/09 14:47

Name of your website?

Funky Dogs

Your name?

Tim Frazier

Your Location (city, etc)

Sassamansville

Please give us a short summary of your website?

Funky Dogs is your one stop shopping center for your canine friend. We carry a large variety of pet products for your furry friend. Items include collars, apparel to make your dog a funky dog, dog houses, treats, bedding and more. We also have a section dedicated to health and training.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

As a pet owner(I have two male akitas), I wanted one location I could go to for my own pet needs. I never found quite what I was looking for. My solution was to make one available for all canine owners.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

This is actually my first pet site.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

Actually, I cannot take credit for that. The web-designer gets the nod for coming up with that name.

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

It has a wealth of tips conveniently located in one location with a great selection of "all dog" products.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

My eventual goal is to grow this into a chain of stores each specializing in a particular pet.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

This is a new store, so only time will tell. I can tell you that right now I am having a ball. I look forward to making a lot of new friends on the internet as they join the Funky Dog family.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I would add a blog with a section for each visitor to feature his or her pet.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Absolutely.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

So far, nothing unexpected has occurred.

What has been your biggest challenge?

By far, my biggest challenge has been in getting the word out.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

So far, word of mouth has been the most effective.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

It has been more time consuming as far as advertising is concerned.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

The site is new. I am in it for the long haul. I plan to grow the site over time as more and more features are added.

Why should I shop at Funky Dogs rather than the local pet store?

Because when you shop with us, you are more than a customer, you become part of the family.

What is your website address?

Funky Dogs
