Cat Illnesses and Cat Diseases Interview

By Interviewer at 02/07/08 19:07

Name of your website?

Cat Illnesses and Cat Diseases

Your name?

Neil Barron

Your Location (city, etc)

Belfast

Please give us a short summary of your website?

A list of common cat illnesses, what causes them, how to spot the symptoms and advice on treatment.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

To see if I could do it.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

Happy Goldfish. The same as Happy Moggy, but for goldfish. Launched in September 07

How did you decide on a name for your website?

Domain name checker

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

Most other pet websites are badly designed. This one isn't.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

Sell it if the adsense does well.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

It is a lot heavier! The success half of the see-saw is up in the air!

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

Blog and articles.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Yes

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

Directory submissions. Didn't know you had to keep doing it to stay up the rankings.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Directory submissions. Hard to keep going at it.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Again, directory submissions. When I started doing them, the sites went up.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

It hasn't really.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

It's really a testing ground for income ideas, so I will always have it.

Are you glad you set up this website?

Yes!

What is your website address?
