The Nassau County Aquarium Society Forum

Lonnie Goldman

Your Location (city, etc)

Long Island

Please give us a short summary of your website?

A forum created for the Nassau County Aquarium Society, but open to the world! A great place for novices to experienced aquarists. We're a family friendly, fully moderated discussion forum. Come and join us... and everyone will welcome you with open arms and everyone will know your name in short order.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

It was always a burning desire of mine to create a Forum

How did you decide on a name for your website?

Check the forum for the answer to that question.

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

Family friendly and fully moderated.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

To make it a resource to turn to get your questions answered, and a place where you can show pictures of your tanks, fish, etc.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Yes

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

None

What has been your biggest challenge?

Getting people to post and keep interest up. We're reaching a critical mass and attracting new members almost daily.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Advertising on craigslist.com

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

Three years. Hopefully it will be up forever.

What is your website address?
