Last week my mom brought my dogs to a Canine Training Camp in a mountain resort. I actually didn't know canine camps exist. I know there are Trick Schools for dogs, beauty salon and hotels for animals. But I didn't know you can have all those three in just one place. It's called Mountain Canine Camp. A camp especially made for dogs and cats although they also accept training for monkeys, pigs and birds. Lol, I was laughing hard when I learned our neighbor who owns a piggy was there according to my mom.
In training camps, the animal owners are given seminars and trainings because they will also become the personal trainers of their animals. This will promote a better relationship between you and your pet instead of hiring other trainers.
While the owners are undergoing seminars, the animals are housed in comfortable rooms, like mini hotels. They are given proper food, behavior lessons and those who need trimming will get it, like my dog, they trimmed a little hair on him.
After the seminar, the owners will now go their pets and have them roamed the whole place. The place is full of obstacle courses, jumping pods, and other training related stuffs. Letting them roam the place first will make them familiar to it.
Then after that. one by one each trainer will have to make their pets finish obstacle courses like criss-crossing on poles, jumping on rubber tires, jumping on hanging loops and other stuffs alike. They also need to learn how to respond on what you say. Animals are also given mental and behavioral training like teaching them how to sit, stand, behave when there are strangers, inspect when they are ask to or to count and understand simple commands.
My dog already knows how to count through barking. When I say count 5, he it will bark 5 times. But when my mom brought the dogs home, they already know how to do simple addition and subtraction.
I would love to personally visit that camp soon. I will be bringing with me my cats. I wonder if they allow training for chinchillas?
