I travel a lot. I love traveling especially when I have my pets with me. Because my dogs are all big, I don't usually bring them. My cats and chinchillas are the lucky ones who can go travel with their master, and sometimes my rabbit too. Mostly its the cats that are taken along because I can let them walk by themselves when we arrived to our destination unlike the chinchillas that will jump anywhere they want and I'm afraid that they will get lost. Pifa is a Honeybear cat and Cera is an American Bobtail. They are very trained and they follow my orders. They are used to traveling with me. But before that, they undergo the feeling of anxiety. So what I did was I trained them first inside the car that is not running. I let them get familiarize with the environment inside the vehicle. We played, I talked to them and then I gave them treats. The next day I took them with me for a short ride. I can still sense that they are uncomfortable with a moving car, specially that are big cats, bigger than already. They cannot stand while the car is moving.
I took them again the next day for another ride and I can see the improvement in them. They are now sitting properly on the car seats. They are already jumping from the back to the front seat. And I can feel that they are enjoying the ride. They are very curious of the world outside, they are paying too much attention on the door glass looking outside wondering what are those big mountains on the background of big buildings.
I also found out that my Cera is pregnant. Soon she will give birth to a baby cat and both of them will become parents. I am now studying the ways to take care the new born cats. And I hope I can do that pretty well so their baby will grow properly just like them.
Hi there! =)I am a musician and want to go on a road tour. I want to take my American Bobtail Cat "Lucy" who is 6 years old, with me, but she has never traveled before and I'm nervous and don't want anything to happen to her. Do you think it would be okay to take her along? She is like my best friend. I would be so sad to just leave her behind.
